¿World currency? Why is the US dollar the world's main currency in international commerce when the euro and Sterling are both much stronger currencies?
How's this one world currency thing gonna work? OK so today i heard about some meeting with a bunch of important people and it had something to do with them meeting about the failing economy and about a one world currency. And i heard that they want to start the one world currency thing in 2010. Well that's good and all but how do we get money if we still have our current money? And what are they going to do with all of the useless money that's going to be there?
What would happen if the world operated under one form of currency? What economic impacts (good & bad) would the world encounter if the entire planet operated under one form of currency? Several (long-shot) assumptions have to be considered... so PLEASE READ before answering: 1. All countries are allies/neutral amongst each other. So no rogue nations or crazy-dictators who oppose the world currency. In other words, all nations have stable governments (doesn't just have to be a democracy - just STABLE). 2. Anti-counterfeiting methods are optimal. This form of currency is 100% counterfeit-proof. 3. The currency is NOT backed by gold any other type of precious metal. 4. All forms of existing currency, such as the dollar, pound, yen, etc are obsolete. Of course persons who owned such had them converted to the new currency fairly. 5. A multi-international "Federal Reserve" monitors the production of the new currency where 12-nation-districts print the currency. This organization operates similar to the Fed in the US.
How long before we have a single world currency? Is there any question we're heading toward control of world currency by a central authority? Do you see the current monetary upheaval as the start of a trend ushering in vast politcal and social changes?
Have you heard about the One World Currency? I have been hearing wind of a one world currency, I don't know about you but that is a sign from revelations! If any one could shed some light, about the actually facts of this I would really appreaciate it.
How can a "one world currency" come into being ? there is a movement in the U.S. to promote "nation-state" protectionism to try and stave off the collapse of currency. Current world trends indicates to me only one solution: a world wide money system: one world-wide currency.
what do you think of the trading between in-game currency and real world currency? Multiplayer online games have given rise to a virtual economy, in which all kinds of virtual assets from in-game currency, magic shield to whole characters are traded against real world currency. there are sites like famre100.com and gggold.com sell all kinds of in-game money for real world money, what do you think of this phenomenon.
What are some reasons against a world currency? As in a global currency. No separate currencies for separate countries. This would eliminate exchange rates. What are some reasons that would stop this from functioning? If there was one governing body in charge, so countries were not able just to print there own money or anything...
How do I invest in world currency markets? I hear this is a good place to invest where you can make a tremendous amount of money in a short amount of time. How does this work? What do I research? Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
What happens once the Euro surpasses the US dollar as the 'world currency'? The Euro has risen dramatically, and it will continue to out-pace the USD for some time. Even the Canadian dollar is worth almost as much as the USD! So what will a weak US dollar mean for the US as a whole? Links, please... Billy, the pound is limited to Britain. Europe is a continent - Britain is a country.
Why not another currency to $ in the world ? For the safe world economy ; there is a need to have a parallel world currency to $. At lest ,rest of 80% world population will not be affected by such financial crisis, in future . The financial budegts of other countries would be unchanged. Will International Monetary Fund and World Trade Organization accept / encourage ? For some times; other countries ; refused to accpet $ as a comparable international currency for trade and or other reasons.

What would happen if the world only had one currency? Europe has the Euro. USA has United States Dollar. China has Yuan. What would happen if every country in the world had only 1 currency? What it create chaos? Would it be the best thing ever? What do you predict would happen? BTW: What would it be called? The worldo? Thanks!
Why can't we dollarize world currencies to avoid currency fluctuations? There is no need to have floating currencies in the world because global trade is increasing and currency values are reflected in the trade of product, and not trade of currencies, anymore. It also eliminates speculation, which is responsible for ruining people's lives (like the Asian Financial crisis in 1997/98)
Can we have one world currency say universal(uni)dollar issued by world bank, like euro or US $ instead of dep? In the world, all the countries instead of depending upon these currencies (us dollar and sterling pount etc), world bank can introduce universal currency say uni-dollar. If it is possible, it may take long time to intoduce all over the world starting with international trade and by introducing higher denomination. Initially all the countries can link their currency with Uni dollar and gradually switch over to the world currency such as Uni- dollar.
For or against single World Currency? What do you think? What are the advantages or disadvantages of having a single global currency? For a school debate my group has to argue 'for' one global currency. I personally am against. Any ideas to help me out? Thanks.
Why USD becomes the leading currency around the world? Why USD becomes the leading currency around the world? Or in what extend or factors lead USD becomes the strongest currency around the world? and what factors had been affect USD to depreciate over the past few years?
Will there be a "world currency" in our lifetime? The U.S. dollar is used all over the world, but mostly because it was stable after WWII because of Bretton Woods. Now it is not stable. The Euro is becoming more popular. Will the Euro become the world currency in the next 60 years or is it just an experiment?

If the euro replaces the US dollar as the world's currency, is the US no longer the world's leader? The US has already lost its manufacturing power. The only industry in which the US can claim to still be competitive is information technology. Every year the US has a huge deficit between the products it exports and what it imports. The US is also the world's biggest debtor nation. Right now the euro is at an all-time high value against the dollar. The US dollar's predominance as the world's currency is virtually the only vestige of hegemony the US empire has left. If the euro replaces the dollar as the world's currency, is the US empire coming to an end?
How would the world economy hold up to a new international Global currency? I don't know if I'm asking that right ... What I'm wondering is if the entire world would benefit or not from a unit of currency (let's call it a "Terra" for arguments sake) that isn't based on any one nations currency but is based more on a Global market and backed by precious metals instead of any type of bank reserve notes. Or does anything like it currently exist?
What is the total amount of currency in the world? How much money is in circulation and can be transacted with in the entire world, any time. If all the money in the world, electronic or real, was pooled together, how much would it be. Basically, how much money is out there?
Why can the world not use the same currency? I personnally think that if we have different currencies at this time that there's world wide trade, some countries will become richer and others poorer for there's no equity of resources in all parts of the world. If you think yes or no, please give me your reasons. Thanks.
Why do tourists from third world countries have to suffer when it comes to currency exchange? Ifyou are from a third world country and u get to travel to a first world country such as the usa or uk, you will have to scrape your wallet and live a mieger life than the life you led in your home country. This is due to currency exchange. You have to pay ten times the amount to buy a loaf of bread in your visiting country than the amount you paid back back home for the same product.
What is the strongest Currency in the World? I understand the British Pound is up there. There is a lot of mention of the Cypriotic Pound, What about the Maltese Lira? It is never mentioned. But what comes to mind is the Kuwaiti Dinar. Why? Because for 1 Kuwaiti Dinar you need 2 British Pounds.(rough estimate) For every British Pound you only get back around half a Kuwati Dinar. http://www.currencysource.com/tables/GBP/1X_GBP.htm Surely that is strong? What are your thoughts? there must be more people that have an answer for this? come on you guys

World Currency? How many different types are there and what countries do they belong to?
scientology, new world order, and L ron hubbard and the one world currency anti christ? All four of these thing are mentioned in the book of revelations that the world will be under one government and will have a world wide currency. Also it mentions that the world will have one religion even though scientology claims not to be a religion i think it is and I believe that L Ron hubbard is the anti-christ does anyone else.... If he is the anti christ there is nothing we can do to stop him but we can educate people to not be fooled and not to accept his mark when he reveals it
What is the solution to creating a "one world currency" ? please, answers that do not provide solutions are just opinions: opinions are a dime a dozen. Spare me the pain of reading tripe. For example, I really do not care about "nation-state" protectionism, we all know the world economy is beyond that now. Making "Profits" is usually done by enslaving ppl. Communism destroys the individual. Perhaps the solution is within the formation of a transparent world government. Right now I find it disgusting that currency is issued by private banks...again, please, solutions, not opinions. (pls, do not vote as "answered" on this question if a solution is not provided with in the answer!!!)
Good community website for world currency collecting? Looking for a community-generated website (for example a wiki) dedicated to world coin and banknote collecting that has thorough info on coins and notes. For example one issue I have with banknoteworld.com is that while they have a good set of scanned bills, they don't include a lot of detailed info -- like watermark, ultraviolet, other security features, description of bill. Meanwhile banknotes.com has some of this info but is not nearly exhaustive. Any site -- say a numismatic or notaphilic wiki -- that does better than these?
Could money (world currency) be the woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast of Revelation 17:3? So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
How soon can world currency results be displalyed? Esp. the dollar, yen, & euro? Interest rates affect all curriences and help determine the rise and fall of all major dollar levels. Where can the earliest daily results be found? The euro, yen , dollar, and many other curriences are major factors in global economic trading decisions. How can I learn how this information is conveyed, displayed, expedited, and understood throughout the markets?
Which is the world's strongest currency ? I'm not sure which is the world's strongest currency, but I do know that the Cypriot Pound is one of them... I don't know if it is even possible to get a clear answer but if anybody could... go right ahead !
How long can the US hold on to being the world reserve currency ? The fall of the US dollar compared to the Euro http://ca.finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?from=USD&to=EUR&amt=1&t=5y Huge loss against Russia http://ca.finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?from=USD&to=RUB&amt=1&t=5y Huge loss of worth against India http://ca.finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?from=USD&to=INR&amt=1&t=5y Oh a low dollar is good for the US we can export now ? Oh so a nation who has imported for 30 years or more is going to flip it's entire economy over to export and manufacture things and capture a world wide market ? How long will that take ? A lot of the oil prodyucing nations now prefer to trade in the more stable Euro and a lot like the idea of isolating the US because of an overly aggressive foriegn policy If the world dumps US dollars on the market as has been happening and exactly what China threatened to do - the US currency would more or less become worthless overnight - one can see it is fast becomeing the new reality How long before the Euro and not the US dollar is the world reserve ?
Should the World have one single Currency ? that will help to reduce Poverty by making a level playing Field.? This if it ayall happens will reduce the manipluation of poor countries by the Rich Nations and also reduce the corruption by third world Dictators who manipulate their currencies against the so called hard currencies to make Millions for them selves. For example Indian Rupee in 1947 was a big silver Coin today it is not worth its weight in Paper it is printed on.Some body stole all that Silver.Of course the money traders will be out of job but the era of peace and happiness will begin.
Why isn't there one single world wide currency? I am hoping for the broadest range of opinions for this question and i am hoping "chrisvet" would be able to contribute an answere as his answer to my last question was chosen as the best by the community and this question is of a similar nature although i expect the answer is fairly simple.
