- You're talking about forex trading. http://www.forex.com Just remember, only 5% of investors in forex make a profit, the other 95% feed the gains of those who make money.
- Find a good manager - they have the answers. My money manager is awesome. Cannot disclose in public. What is your requirement?
- Nowhere in the United States. Go stand in London and do it. In the United States, only common law regulates FOREX. This is critical because activities which would be fraudulant in the regulated markets are legal in the FOREX market. It is a dealer market so you can get any price quote the dealer wishes to give, even away from the market. It is rather like being a bookie, knowing how the entire set of bets go, loaning money to create the bets and then being able to control the failure of the bets by shifting the dealers bid or ask price to force margin calls. They farm pennies from their customers, but at 30 to 1 leverage, every penny is worth 30 cents. Further, because the customers can only trade directly with the dealer and the dealer knows everyone's position, the dealer can almost completely control their own internal risk by pushing prices around to shift orders. Remember, a stop order or a limit order is the same thing as a call option from the dealer's perspective, but it is one they didn't have to pay for, better too because when it executes they get a commission or spread. DO NOT TRADE FOREX IN THE UNITED STATES!
- Why put the word "invest" in the same sentence as "currency trading"? You are not investing, you are speculating. That is a financial term for gambling. If you want to "invest" in a foreign currency, you can open a CD account in that currency and earn interest. Your investment will also go up and down in value as that currency moves vis-a-vis the US dollar. (see link below) Or there are Exchange Traded Funds that invest in foreign currencies. Euro, British Pound etc. Checkout rydex funds - link below. These are far better options to what I think you are considering.
