Has anyone purchased EverBank's Foreign Currency CDs?

I was looking to invest in foreign currencies and one way is investing in EverBank's foreign currency CD's. The minimum investment is $10,000. There are various time periods starting with 3 months. They are FDIC insured for the bank failing, but you are susceptible to currency fluctuations, Thanks!

  1. Yes.
  2. I am preparing to purchase a $10,000 Icelandic Krona CD in March. I am a little hesitant, because the dollar has been moving up against the Krona since the new year, however, I am glad it is doing it now, before I purchase my CD. The APY is 12.14%, so the dollar would have to really make a move to wipe out the return. I am not saying that could not happen, but that is a big move for one year. I think I shall purchase a 6 month Icelandic CD. I am well aware of the currency risk. I just think the upside potential is higher than the downside risk. We will see.
